Recent minutes from Academic Board, Faculty Council, and Graduate Council (academic years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 and the first half of 2015-2016) are included on this page for continuity during the transition to Faculty Senate, which began in January 2016. The historical documents are provided for reference purposes only.
Minutes from each Faculty Senate meeting are distributed in draft and then formally adopted at the next Senate meeting. When draft minutes are posted, the word DRAFT will appear in the link to indicate that the minutes have been distributed but not yet formally adopted. When adopted, the link to the final corrected version of the minutes will omit the word “DRAFT.” Suggestions about changes to the draft minutes should be forwarded to the Recording Secretary.

Historical Minutes from Faculty Council
Constituted in the 1970s to provide input to the administration on faculty concerns, Faculty Council consisted of representatives from the each of the academic departments and the Library. Membership was allocated based on headcount in the various departments. Faculty Council’s Academic Year began with an organizational meeting at the end of the prior academic year to alleviate transition problems caused by the summer break. Therefore, the April 2013 meeting of the Faculty Council was considered the first meeting of the 2013-2014 year, even though the summer hiatus came in between that meeting and the August 2013 meeting.

Recent Historical Minutes from Graduate Council
Chaired by the Dean of CGC, the Graduate Council included representatives from each of the academic units that operated a graduate program. Departments or stand-alone schools that had an average enrollment of more than 150 students over a three-year period were entitled to one additional representative, and the Registrar and the Chair of Faculty Council were ex-officio, non-voting members. The council was replaced by the Graduate Curriculum Committee as part of the governance reorganization in early 2016.
