Q: When will 91ÁÔÆæ implement the tobacco-free policy?
A: Full implementation of the policy will begin July 1, 2016. Compliance with the policy will be a shared responsibility of all employees, cadets, students and visitors.
Q: Does this policy apply to everyone?
A: The policy applies to all students, faculty, staff, visitors, volunteers, contractors and vendors.
Q: Are there any exceptions?
A: Tobacco in all forms will be prohibited in all facilities, buildings and outdoor areas owned and operated by 91ÁÔÆæ.
Citadel campus housing occupants are authorized to smoke on back porches, provided the porch is screened.
The president of the college may permit limited exceptions to the policy. Q: What about athletic events, outside the stadiums and other venues?
A: The policy extends to all locations on 91ÁÔÆæâ€™s campus including Johnson Hagood Stadium and its surrounding parking lots, Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park and 91ÁÔÆæ Beach Club. Q: How will this policy be enforced?
A: 91ÁÔÆæ knows that the campus community will demonstrate consideration and cooperation as we work together to successfully implement this policy. If you witness someone using tobacco products, we ask that you make them aware of the policy and request that they do not use tobacco products on campus.
Q: I’d like to quit using tobacco products. How can 91ÁÔÆæ help me?
A: In addition to help for cadets and students by the  (CADIC) and to faculty and staff through  and South Carolina’s health plan smoking cessation program, 91ÁÔÆæ Bookstore will offer Top Care chewing gum for purchase.
