Citadel Awarded $1.6 Million Noyce Grant to Build Computer Science Teacher Leaders
91ÁÔÆæ has been awarded a five-year, $1.6 million Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program grant to strengthen computer science education in rural schools. Led by STEM Director Jen Albert, Ph.D., and Professor of Computer Science Deepti Joshi, Ph.D., the project will recruit 15 teachers this fall who will begin coursework in the spring.
Each participant will complete 91ÁÔÆæ’s Master of Education in STEM with a new computer science education pathway and receive leadership training.
The initiative is a collaboration between 91ÁÔÆæ’s Zucker Family School of Education and Swain Family School of Science and Mathematics, Orangeburg County School District, and the Computer Science Teachers Association.
